How Weather Change Affects Allergies
The connection between the weather and your allergies acting up is scientific. Winter and spring are notoriously known as allergy season, but this belief isn’t very factual All seasons have the potential to trigger your allergies and your allergies will be activated as long as there are allergens that you are susceptible to, in the air. Being informed goes a long way in helping you deal with your allergies. A majority of allergy medications have the maximum effect if you begin taking them before your allergies fire up.
Winter-Spring
Spring might seem like the time of the year when you sneeze the most or experience a stuffy nose and other symptoms associated with allergies, and there is a good reason why. Most plants release pollen into the air during Springtime and this pollen triggers allergies. Grass pollen levels are also at their highest during the late Spring-early Summer time period. Outdoor mold begins releasing spores during the spring. These spores too, can aggravate/cause allergies. Tree pollen levels also peak around this time.
Spring-Summer
Summer is synonymous with grass allergies in several parts of the US. The amount of grass pollen in the air reaches a bothersome amount in the late-May to mid-July. The quantity of outdoor mold spores generally reach their hilt in July. However, colder states of the US are not subject to heightened outdoor mole spores levels until October. In humid states, mold release spores all year through.
Summer-Fall
Ragweed is notorious for being a common allergy trigger. The Ragweed plant releases its pollen between late Summer and early Fall. You can expect Ragweed pollen levels to reach their maximum in September.
Fall-Winter
In the Fall-Winter season, you may still breathe easy. The incidences of pollen in the air are at their lowest during this time annually. Indoor allergy symptoms though may increase. It is because people spend maximum time indoors during the colder season and it exposes them, more than ever, to indoor allergy triggers.
