Sports Physicals

What Is a Sports Physical?

The sports physical exam helps determine whether it's safe for you to participate in a particular sport at your college, school or university. Most states actually require that kids and teens have a sports physical before they can start a new sport or begin a new competitive season.

The two main parts to a Sports Physical are the medical history and the physical exam. A sports physical should not replace an annual wellness physical.

What is the Cost of a Sports Physical?

Phoenix Family Medical Clinic offers Sports Physicals at an unbeatable price of $30.

Are Sports Physicals covered through insurance?

Unfortunately, insurance plans do not cover Sports Physicals.

What to expect at your visit?
  • Sign in at front desk kiosk, No appointment necessary.
  • Your practitioner will review your medical history and immunizations and perform a simple physical exam to determine if you are able to safely participate in your chosen sport. If additional immunizations are needed, those will be at an additional charge.
  • Your practitioner may conduct a urinalysis if required. Please note that additional charges apply for additional tests.
  • At the end of your visit, your practitioner will stamp any medical forms required and also provide you with a summary, a receipt and if required, appropriate educational material.
Do I need an Appointment for a Sports Physical?

At Phoenix Family Medical Clinic you can walk in for a Sports Physical, even though it is always advisable to make an appointment.
