Such a pain can be experienced if you have met with a car accident in the past, had a fall or even due to a trauma that you went through. However, most of the times, a back pain is caused by the common everyday activities such as lifting a heavy object, twisting or bending to pick up something, working in front of a computer for hours at a stretch or even due to carrying your shopping bags. Here are some of the easy tips for preventing a back pain from disrupting your regular activities.

Researchers have proved that human muscles are designed for movement. When you are not in a proper shape, you would be more vulnerable to hurting your back even when you are doing uncomplicated movements like lifting your baby from the crib. Moreover joints can be kept fluid by regular exercising. When you are overweight, particularly around the stomach, your back has to bear extra strain.

2. Proper diet is a must: When a person has a good and healthy diet, he or she can maintain a proportionate weight and there is no unnecessary stress on the body. In fact, when you tend to have a diet that constitutes of fast or spicy food on a regular basis, your nervous system can be affected and that in turn can cause a back problem. So have a good diet that constitutes of dairy products, fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grains and lean meat to ensure that your digestive system is in proper track. It has been seen that many people who have problems with their bowels tend to have back problem.

3. Proper posture should be maintained: There are many people who sit in front of their computers for 7 to 8 hours in a day continuously. However, such people may be unknowingly causing a huge damage to their backs. So it is essential that such professionals use a workstation that is ergonomically correct both at home, as well as, at office. They should take breaks in between by doing some stretching exercises. Also ensure that you are adopting proper posture while sitting in front of your computer.

4. Correct sleeping posture: Make sure that you are not sleeping on your back. The best posture while sleeping should be to sleep on your side. You can position a pillow under the lower portion of your abdomen so that stress can be taken off the back.
