Top Causes Of Sciatica That Cause Acute Pain

If you want to cure yourself of a condition like sciatica, you should be aware of the causes of your pain. If too much pressure on your sciatic nerve is the cause got your sciatic pain, then any of the following causes mentioned below can be the culprit.

Condition 1: Herniated discs

When your bulging or herniated disc causes pressure, it can lead to sciatica. At times a disc may protrude out of the vertebrae. This can happen as an aftereffect of a vehicle accident or due to several months of unequal pressure as a result of muscle imbalances. In such cases, even when your nerve experiences the slightest of pressures, you can feel pain. Though sciatic pain can be an outcome of herniated discs, you need to understand that there are several people who gave herniated discs but do not suffer from pain or any other symptoms. Hence, even though you may find out that you have herniated discs, it may not be the reason for your sciatica.

Condition 2: Piriformis Syndrome

One of the most widely-known reasons for suffering from sciatica is when the Piriformis muscle places pressure on your sciatic nerve. When certain parts of your body like thighs, hips, core and lower back have muscle imbalances, your pelvis and hip joints can be pulled out of their place. Thus, when the Piriformis muscle's position gets changed as a result of the reasons mentioned, your sciatic nerve can get irritated as a result of constant touch. Whatever may be the case; these types of muscle imbalances when overlooked for a long time can cause serious problems later on. This is the reason why Piriformis syndrome is one of the key root causes of sciatica.

Condition 3: Isthmic Spondylolisthesis

When Isthmic Spondylolisthesis causes pressure due to the slipping of vertebrae or when there is a movement out of its usual spinal alignment, your sciatic nerve can get pinched at times. This condition is contributed due to lack of proper balances in one's muscle strength. But, similar to herniated discs, there are many people who have this condition but do not suffer from sciatic pain or symptoms. In fact, several people do.

Condition 4: Spinal Stenosis

Spinal stenosis is a condition that leads to a gap between the vertebrae can cause pressure, thereby pinching the nerves that are present along with your spinal column. It is mainly an outcome of compression and uneven pressure due to imbalances in the muscle.

When you are uncertain about which of the above four condition is the culprit of your pain, you can begin with the basics. In a majority of the cases, muscle imbalances are the cause of your sciatic pain. Thus, when you start working on improving the muscle imbalances, you will soon observe improvement.min fact; such an action can even cure your sciatic pain within a time span of some weeks or even less than that. If a person experiences a sudden bout of sciatic pain, it can be an outcome of a traumatic incident.
